Free rap beats seem like the perfect thing for rappers that have a low budget but that may not always be the case. So I have been making beats for about 10 years now. I have sold them online and offline and also helped artists with projects they have been working on and every artists always wants free beats but that is not always the way to go.

Reason #1

If you can easily get a free beat from a producer online, think about how many other artists are getting that same free beat from that producer. It's true that they are trying to do you a favor but they are doing the same thing for thousands of other rappers. What will end up happening is all of you will be sounding the same because your using the same free beat. This won't happen with beats that you actually buy.

Reason #2

Some producers put beats tags in there free rap beats. Beat tags are tags that shout out there name through out the beats so that everyone knows who made the beats. It's really a way to promote the producer. You can't use a beat like that on your album though because you will have the producers name all over the track while your performing the song.

Reason #3

Some producers use there low quality or throw away beats when they offer free beats. They usually save the hottest beats for their paying customers so when you take them up on there free rap beats offer you are really not getting quality beats.

So those are the biggest three reasons not to use free beats. I realize they can be very tempting but they are not always the best way to go.
